Jacquelyn N. Garcia focuses her practice on estate planning and administration for individuals and families. Jacquelyn is particularly well-versed in all aspects of settling the affairs of a loved one after their passing. She is passionate about ensuring that her clients’ wishes are properly documented during life and honored after death. Jacquelyn understands that the process of administering an estate can be overwhelming, and she strives to make this difficult process as smooth and painless as possible.
Jacquelyn also employs her considerable tax expertise to implement sophisticated estate and gift tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals and families, helping clients take care of their families for generations to come, reduce estate taxes and accomplish charitable giving objectives. She also prepares estate and gift tax returns that are often required as part of advanced estate planning or estate administration.
Additionally, Jacquelyn works with clients to determine business entity selection, formation, preparation of operating or partnership agreements, buy-sell agreements, and other essential documents that define the rights and responsibilities of business co-owners.
Jacquelyn is a Certified Legal Specialist in Taxation Law; earned a Master of Law Degree in Taxation with high distinction; and she received a J.D. from Loyola Law School, where, amongst other things, she received an Academic Merit Scholarship for 3 years, served as Vice-Trustee for the Mexican American Bar Association, volunteered at the Disability Rights Legal Center, and became a California Dispute Resolution Programs Act Trained Mediator.
Prior to law school, she graduated Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University, receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration with a double emphasis in Law and International Business and Minors in Spanish and Hispanic Business Studies.
Jacquelyn is proud to be Colombian-American and is fluent in Spanish. In her free time, Jacquelyn enjoys playing with her daughter, trying new foods, exercise and the outdoors, planning parties and traveling.
